Default Motor damage

16000 miles, and 22 months later, I just pulled the motor out of my 06 street bob. It got hot last night, and all of the lifters started clanking, I knew there was a serious problem. I pulled the cam plate last night, and founf the pinion shaft bushing, and the end of the pinion shaft gauged up pretty bad. Just pulled the motor this afternoon and put an indicator on the end and measured .032 total indicated runnout. I will post some pics Wednesday, and time permitting, some pics of putting it back together. I have a good dealership not too far away from where I live, since the bike is under warranty, they may shoot me some of the parts I need to button it up. This is a major bummer to me scince I had planned to stroke this thing, but not this soon...

Is there anything that would have caused this? Any other issues prior? Seems early like you stated for this major of a break down. Good luck.

Believe it or not, I'm not that hard on the motor at the stop light, no wheelies, except once, and maby one good burnout. Ive suspected a bent crank for a while, I just didnt expect it to be that far out...
