I have a 99 WG and personally never cared for the skinny front tire. I also wanted to lower the bike by 1-2 inches. I was thinking of putting a 19 incher (3.5 wide) on the front in place of the 21 and that would obviously lower the front end by about an inch. Then I would just lower the back end and I can kill two birds with one stone.
Has anyone here done that to their WG and if so, how does the bike ride and handle as well as how does it look?

I'm keeping the 21", but am installing a 3.5" rim so I can run a 120 up front. There's a post here somewhere of a WG with that config. It fits under the stock fender and looks great. Can't go wrong with more contact patch either!

 

ktm_scott....I ws thinking that route as well. I understand you can just buy the rim itself and just re-lace your existing spokes with the original hub and all. I wonder how much a pain in the a$$ it is to do it that way?

 

There was an article in last month's Hot Bike about a company that laces up a wider rim to your 21". The sent to whole wheel in and it came back mounted with a new 120 front tire. They never listed the price and now I can't even find the magazine. Had anyone else seen it? I'd like to do that to my WG at some point also.

if you get a new wheel id be intrested in your 21", mines the mag 19in wheel and i personally like the skinny up there goes better with the narrow trees. pm thx
