RE: paint touch up
Size of a small nail head. I have a two tone black cherry/silver pearl. One chip is in the black cherry the other is acutally on the tomato red pin stripe. Got the red touch up from dealer and had the black cherry color matched at auto paint store. Hope this is enough info

RE: paint touch up
About all you are going to be able to do is use a tooth pick with a small amount of paint and lightly dab each spot filling it slowly (more than one coat). You wont be able to sand and fill unless you are planning to re clear coat your whole tank. If you go slow and let the paint dry between applications you should be able to get a reasonable repair. It wont be perfect but it will inhibit rust and look better than bare metal or primer. Just remember to go slow and use very small amounts of paint and fill over several coats.

RE: paint touch up
Had a pit the size of a 16P nail head on my tank. I have a black tank so was easier that the pinstrip you talked about. What I did was buy a small bottle of 2 stage touch up paint. I applied it with the brush end, (very small brush with bottle) Once that dried, I touched it again until the pit was filled and the paint stuck ubove the surface of the original paint. Then I used a fine (300 grit) to bring the surface of the touch up close to the orightnal paint level. Then I used a 600 grit wet sandpaper. (carefully) Then an electric buffer with rubbing compound, then a mothers swirl remover, I did these until the surface was smooth. I then bought a black tint wax and buffed it until all the marks were gone. You can see the pit if you look realllllly close and know were it was. I'm very happy with the results and the bucks I saved.
Good luck. It's scary work when your not a painter, but it can be done.
