Boss Bags (www.bossbags.com)
$750
Very easy to install/take off.
Works with detachable sissy bar if you have one.
Bags lock to the bike and the lids are lockable as well.
Extremely happy with them.

db252,
Did you have to relocate your rear turn signals? I currently do have a detahcble sissy bar set-up on mine.

No turn signal relocation necessary. All you would do is replace the fender strut hardware with what they supply you and the spacer that came from the sissy bar hardware. If you want some specific pics, let me know.

A nice picof your new fender strut would be great! Thanks! If you have before & after pics of your fender struts that'd be even better! What spacer are you talking about? Would I still have it with my sissy bar leftover hardware?

If you call Boss Bags, and tell them your model and any other pertinant info such as sissy bar, etc they will tell you exactly what you will need for thier bags to fit. very helpful people.

Your fender strut would be stock.....all your doing is replacing the stock hardware which you've obviously already done when you added the detachable sissy bar. The bags will come with new hardware which is basically extensions for the bags to mount to. They supply all the hardware that is necessary to use even with the detachable sissy bar. They only thing you'll use from your sissy bar hardware is the mounts to what the sissy bar attaches to. Does that make sense?

I put a few pics in here for you to see something visually.

You can see the mounts where the sissy bar attaches and these are what you would add to the new hardware for the bags.

I've been looking at the Boss bags for my Fat Bob. They are expensive but they look well made and their attachment system is the best I've seen. I'm thinking of getting the studded bags. I can't find a European dealer so they will cost me $795 plus $125 postage plus 17.5% tax and maybe some import duty on top. I don't know if they are worth that cost because I probably won't have them fitted most of the time.

BTW, to fit them you also have to remove the lower shock bolt and fit the roller that you can see in the picture above.

I probably will end up buying a pair because I like good quality but I will have to slowly psych myself up to spending that type of money.

db252,
Great pics man...thanks! Yup...all makes sense. So those little hinges that hold the bags on the struts just attach directly to the existing hinges that are on the struts right now for the detachable sissy bar, right?
