Keep the can. Never underestimate a govt. agency's willingness and ability to grow their budget. It's only a matter of time until they go after our smog puking planet killers for the sake of humanity. They're already going after our pipes "cuz the noise is causing, like, stress and everthing, dude!"

Riders dump bazillions into the economy (we all know that!), it ain't gonna be long till the state wants a bit or two. They attack groups with money.

Does removing the canister have any effect at all on performance?....can it hurt anything by removing it?

Thanks

Nothing to do with performance. All it does is capture the gasoline vapors and adsorb them in an activated carbon filter. Once the filter reaches saturation, it needs to be replaced anyway

Took mine off but kept the parts. 5 -10 minute job. Just be sure to plug the vacuum port on the throttle body which you can get to by removing the air cleaner. Helps nothing and hurts nothing. Strictly a cosmetic preference.
