Thanks, just trying to add to the collective knowledge pool here. As far as your 30 year old refinish, I would just go the the local crafts store and get a large roll of padding/soft foam. The 30 year old model I posted shots of above is easily the most comfortable of all my helmets. I think the visual aspect of a sewn in liner is nice to see, but is not really necessary. I spent less than $10 fixing that one up and had most of myfoam and silicone left over. Plus I didn't have to mail it off anywhereorpay $50 and wait to get it back.

I bought a DOT helmet that fit my dome,and left it alone.

What is funny is seeing all those grizzled old guys (OK, at 50, I guess I'm one, too) show up at meets or biker bars in their brand-new N.C. legal DOT's...

Everybody looks the same now. Just like before. Only with bigger heads.
