I had seII's put on my 06 superglide at the stealer and i had the airfilter and the download also.. the pipes require more air and our rides are finiky... the airfuel needs to be adjusted is the reason for the download.. but nice selection on pipes... I like mine

Part of your problem may be your bike is now running too lean. Bikes come from H-D set really lean so they comply with EPA; and, the increased exhaust flow from having slipped on less restrictive mufflers can cause them to run even leaner ... you probably need to have your ECM remapped or add an aftermarket EFI module. There are quite a few to choose from, but after having read all the debate about different providers I decided to go with Dobeck Performance TFI. I believe there are several other parts mfrs who put there label on the TFI, too.

I have been using 89 oct fuel since I brought the bike home. I have never had any problems. Occasionally I will fill the bike up with 91 when I go out of town but that is not very often.

I checked the codes an there were no codes that showed up.




I think I need to clarify something that may make a big difference. The bike idles fine when I start it up. It seems to only dies after it has been ridden and I come to a stop. The bike starts right back up without a problem, and will idle fine until I ride a little way and have to come to a stop and then if I dont keep a little gas on it, it will die.

take it in for warranty work. should work with SE and no AC. if you add ac you will need a map. This should be ~$80. Don't let them try to tell you you need to buy hardware, it's a plug and play download (1hr labor, max)

Well, if there are no codes and the problem didn't exist before the muffler change, then I would put the stockers back on and see if the problem goes away. It would be uncommon if it does, but right now its the only way to be certain (that I can think of). If it actually does improve, then I'd just leave the stockers on until you are able go with the full blown Stage 1 (hi-flow a/c and remap) before putting the SEs (or something else, even) back on. This is me, what I would do.

Not enough back pressure in the pipes with the stock settings. My carbed 05 did the same thing, when I added a set of lolliepops(baffles) in the pipes it took care of it, Dave...

Here's a question: if he's only running 85 gas, could the ECM be using it's anti-knock features to retard timing until it kills?

I think the anti-knock features would only retard timing if the lower octane fuel was actually causing detonation ... in other words, I don't think the ECM would cause the bike to shut downbecause it was detonating at idle when warmed up.
