I got destroyed in the Sportster Room
A guy made a comment that his neighbor could not ride his sportser because it was " too much engine for him to handle" over his ride which is a Street Glide. I commented to the post listing basically saying that the comment is nonscense and posted stock published numbers comparing a Sportser to a Dyna. Needless to say they all argued with meand ripped me a new you know what. They are way too sensitive over there. I learned my lesson and I am glad to be back here where I belong.

I had a 1200 Sportster for a short period before I traded it for my Fat Bob.....All I will say is it is a very quick bike (by Harley standards) and I know I wont be racing any of them. Now as for it having too much engine?.....Maybe he isnt a seasoned rider.

Please...your not going to win that rediculous arguement here. Facts are facts and the fact of the matter is a stock 1200 is pushing 50 hp. Let it go.

Gotta a little chuckle as I read your post Mandog. I had a 1200C for 9 years and loved the bike. She was quick as all get out and with a few relatively inexpensive mods can run short distances with nearly any other Harley. With the same mods on a Dyna, I think that the Sporty would have its hands full. I've only had my FXDC since this past September so I'll defer to some of the Dyna veterans for the final word.
As for the Sporty owner Napoleon complex, it's alive and well, in spades! The Sporty is a great bike and can more thanstand on its own, but there's a vocal minority of owners who take offense at any comment that even mildly criticizes the bike. These guys are some of the most insecure people that I've ever run across. That being said, it's hard to say that there's a more loyal bunch of folks who stand by their ride.

It's an irrelevant argument, anyway. If I wanted something truly fast, I'd have a V-Rod... or a ZX-11...
Been there, done that. I'm having more fun at 65 mph than I ever thought possible. Contentment is a wonderful thing, no?
Besides. I don't ride a Sportster because I can't fit on one.
People who bash other people's rides have insecurity problems.
