Default sissy bar side plates

Just installed solid mount side plates for a backrest on my '07 street bob . I had to disconnect the shocks in order to remove the rear turn signal bolts. now it is back together but my question is; should the side plates mount flush to the fender where the frontmount bolts are? There seems to be aspacer between the fender andside plate. The rearof the mount is flush against the fender(where the turn signal is located). The backrest looks straight and is tight. Also, since I had to drop the shocks, do I need to be concerned about rear tire alignment?

Mine is on the same way. The spacer ison the fender and the side plate is on the spacer. The spacer appeared to be stuck on the fender andI was afraid if I yanked it off it would also remove some paint from the fender. It shouldn't matter. It's only about 1/8" thick spacer. I was a little confused when I installed mine beause there was no mention of the spacer in the instructions. No need to worry about the alignment if all you did was drop the shocks.

you are good to go with the sideplates. you dont have to worry about alignment either with the back tire, because you didnt unloosen the axle bolt. jackyl
