Fat Bob - heat from engine

RE: Fat Bob - heat from engine
I test rode a Fat Bob last month, great bike! Coincidently the only complaint that I had was the enormous amount of heat that it generated. Even on the highway the heat from the pipes irritated my right leg (it was about 65 degrees that day). I would try what the other folks have said here, get a good fuel managment pack and I would consider changing the pipes to some V&H or some other brand - the tommy gun design of the stock exhaust may be adding to the problem.

If you really want to get rid of the excess heat and not just cover it up, order the IED from nightrider.com. You will be amazed at what a difference it will make. I have a K&N filter kit, vance and hines pipes and the fuel pak. The IED cooled the bike so much that I almost can't believe what it did. It makes the bike run the way it should. It is cooler than my evo was. For $70 you will fix your problem, not just cover it up. Simple do it yourself install. Took me about ten minutes. After you do it let us know how much more you like your ride.

I burn't my finger checking the oil yesterday I can do it with out gloves on. (idiot)I have been concerned with heat as well as it is getting into the 90's in Dallas. I run syn and have it tuned and the heat in my 103 is less than I felt on the 96. Good points on the exhuast could be with the holes in the heat sheild.

yep put the pc111 on my 103 fatbob and the bike runs much cooler . if you have no engine mods other than stage one i would give the ieds from nightrider a spin but if you have more mods or plan more in the future go ahead and get the pc111 it gives you many more options and jamie at fuel moto is the best.
