looking to change the ape's to drag bars and need a new triple tree top clamp. has anybody done this and if so were can i get the triple clamp thanks

 

i am thinking the same thing. should be picking up an 08 Bob in a week or so and wanted to get my ducks in a row for putting on 14" apes

 

Part # for upper is 45538-06A and lower is 46384-06. These are HD #'s and I only list them both because the lower clamp for 08 is also different from 07. Pinch bolts on 08 are counterbored whereas 07's arent. Im not suggesting there would be a fitment issue between the years but at the very least they would not look the same. I have traded mine away to another with an 08 because I did a Wide Glide tree conversion. You might look for someone else who's done it (there are a few of us) Zanotti's isnt giving prices right now but look those numbers up......they arent cheap new.

 

what's wrong with the trees? All you have to do is get different risers.....

You beat me to it. This was a very poor design decision. Everyone knows that we mod these bikes. Why in the world would they do this? Of course it boils down to money.

They've got risers I believe, only they're one piece with the top triple tree. Definitely a bad move on the Moco's part, darn glad I got an '07.

You can still change bars on the '08, but obviously some limitations for tank clearance with some bars - so be careful!

 

Thanks for the part #s muddyape. and chipstah i was also thinking along your line that the turn signals would have to be moved probablysomewhere aroundthe triple tree. i havent seen a 08 yet with this set up . (and whats upwith the integraded risers)
