Default 2006 recall of 8 degree injectors??

Hey all,

I had just recently talked to the 'tech' guys at the FuelPakFI.com site asking if they had any different applications for my fuelpak since my bike has not been running to good since I bought this damn thing. They told me before to change one of the modes from 16 to 15 (I believe it was mode 23) so I did that, and still massive amounts of back firing and the bike running rough and hot. I called again, and they told me to recalibrate the throttle, so I did and nothing happened. Called again yesterday, and they told me that Harley had a recall on the 8 degree injectors. He said that they run fine with stock exhaust, ect ect, but not when changed out and that they had an upgrade to the 25 degree injectors.

Has anyone heard of anything about this? I'm not sure if he was just BS'ing me or what, but this is getting a bit aggravating.

Please someone educate me here a bit.

Cheers,
Adrian

By no means an expert here, but do believe reading about An issue with the 8* injectors when the bike is cold. sputtering and dying out untill warmed up. I never had that issue but replaced them whenI Installedthe SERT.
Went with the 25* and run a SERT for 8* for richer setting.
The 25*have a wider spray Delivery pattern, 5 outlet holes as compaired to the 8* which has 3 outlet holes and a narrower delivery pattern.
Not sure is I even came close to answering your question. That's all I know.

It was not a recall, just a service buletin. If you are having problems they should replace them for free. I am going to try to have it done too but after the stage 1 they might try to fight me on it.

Yeh, It was real. If you were having problems they were upgrading bikes to the 25 degree injectors. I still have the 8s with no known problems.

Not every bike needs to change the injectors...it was not a recall becuase not every bike ran badly with them.

I still have the 8° injectors and my brother had his changed to the 25°.

We both have Dynojets and custom mapping.

I make 76.79hp and his makes 75.42.

My torque is 79.33 and his is 79.27.

The bikes are set up very similiar, and are very close in the numbers, but mineseems topull away faster.

Am I the only one who can make a ° sign?

My dealer wouldn't replace my injectors with the fuelpak pluged in, and the bike ran fine without the fuelpak. The reply I got from V&H is "it a Harley, it's supposed to run rough".

Yes and would you mind telling me how I hate having to type out "degree" just because they chose not to add a key for that.By the way my local dealership would not change my injectors because I had changed the exhaust and AC.It's allright though it hasn't stalled or sputtered since having it dyno tuned with the SERT.
