Excerpt form the SERVICE BULLETIN
M-1185 February 20, 2006

FUEL INJECTOR/CALIBRATION CHANGES FOR 2006 1450cc BIG TWINS
Purpose
It has recently been determined that the 8°angle cone sprayfuel injectors used on 2006 1450cc Big Twins may cause coldstart and/or driveability problems on some motorcycles. In the interest of promoting customer satisfaction, the 25°angle cone spray fuel injectors used on CVO 103 cu. in.(1690cc) motors will be installed on all production Big Twinsbeginning on or around February 13, 2006.Additionally, Harley-Davidson will provide for the installation of 25°angle cone spray fuel injectors on those motorcycleswhere use of the 8° fuel injectors (part number 27625-06) isdetermined to be directly responsible for cold start and/ordriveability problems. See REQUIRED DEALER ACTION.NOTEDue to changes in the manufacturing process, the part numberof the 25° angle cone spray fuel injector is changing from27709-06 to 27709-06A. This fuel injector also will bestamped with the words “25 DEG” for easy identification. SeeFigure 1.Motorcycles AffectedOnly 2006 1450cc Big Twin model motorcycles that exhibitcold start and/or driveability problems directly related to useof 8° angle cone spray fuel injectors (including those subsequentlyequipped with P&A Screamin’ Eagle 1450cc or1550cc Performance Kits).

You could by 25
° injectors and install them yourself. First I'd ask the the FuelPak people to refund the cost of the new injectors if it does not fix the problem.

Shift Option 8 if you're using one of those "other" computers
I don't know about"other"computers and option 8 (mac?).
BUT, if you have a normal computer and a normal keyboard with a keypad:
hold down the 'alt' key and type 248 in from the keypad (not from the number keys at the top of the keyboard). And make sure you have num lock turned on.

Hello peope, my name is rick username LITTLEBIT2454, and I just joined the forum today and was reading somewhere about people having issues with the 2006 big twin cold start and uneven idle. I stopped reading long enough to register and for some reason I culd not navigate back to that topic. With that being said, I definately have the probems associated with the 8 degree injectors, always have. I have an '06 superglide and I bought the bike in '07 with 1300 miles. It now has has 6200 miles on it, but every since I bought it, which was my first ever bike, I noticd that it took a lot longer to warm up than my riding companions. They would be ready to "GO", and I was still sitting there throtting up trying to warm it up. At first I didnt know what it was. A fiend suggested replaacing wires and plugs which I did, with the same resuts. Additionally, the idle woulld rev up, and down, unsteady. Now after reading these posts, I know that the problem is to do with the injectors. Can someone tell me the procedure to start getting them replaced? Do I need to call corporate headqurters, and get something from them and take to local dealer, or just take it to the dealer? Are they going to give me the run around? With my luck I can imagine them checking saying it's fine, when I know for a fact that my bike is doing exactly what I have stated here, and read similar stories. Any advise how to start the process would be appreciated.

thanks

My 06 Street Bob was running bad and my dealer supposedly replaced my injectors. Runs worse than before! Goes back in Monday.
