Do you want best looking or most comfortable they are most assuredly not the same thing. If I were looking for a two up seat I'd try to find a used Lowrider seat.
We have a 1 piece 2 up Sundowner. Wife says it is comfortable. I sits me up about 1 inch higher that the stock St Bob solo. If you are vertically challenged, that may be a consideration. It is a little bulky, but the wife is happy.
The seat, if properly installed should not scratch any painted surface, let alone the fender. Make sure it fits properly w/o any pushing or rubbing before you go on your way. There should be no exposed staples, metal or other hard surfaces under the seat. Some seats are covered in a plush velvety kind of fabric, some have a carpet-line bottom, all designed not to scratch.

Depends on the person I guess, I love the looks and comfort of my new Hitchhiker seat.
Flyrod, good advise except for the HD Pillion Pad. There is nothing under it except hard plastic, staples and no liner at all. I bought the touchup paint and it is like liquid gold on my black denim, just TAKE YOUR TIME.
Anyone know how a HD Badlander or HD Screamin Eagle rides?
I have the Badlander. Was not very comfortable for me and for sure not for the wife. Had a local shop replace part of the foam with better quality and added some height and width to the passenger area. They also changed the contour for me and were able to reuse the stock cover. It is way better now for me and the wife. The overall look is still nice and trim and most people can't tell it is modified. Only cost me $75 to get it done so total in the seat is $275.
I change from one to two up all the time. I use the HD bumpers and just remove the two for the Badlander when not in use. I also bought some of the foam stuff for lining toolbox drawers and cut a piece to fit under the back portion of the two-up. It protects the paint very well and stays put.
