RE: I want to add a tach to my 07 Superglide
I looked too. I'm told that from '06 on, HD began using USB instead of more traditional cables so the '05 tach should be out. Just one wire to run everything from the ECM to all the gauges, signals, etc. I can't find any HD ref to a tach for the FXD yet.
You can go aftermarket. I'm told that pin 3 on the ECM is the spot to hook it up, but I haven't verified that. Better check the manual.

I added an aftermarket digital tach/speedo to my 06 FXDI. The tach was not that big of a deal to hook up.
I ran a wire from the tach unit to the ECM. I disassembled the ECM plug, put a terminal on the new tach wire, placed it in slot #3, and plugged it in.
I realize this may not be the unit you are looking at, but the tach hook-up should be similar. Hopefully, this will open up more options for you.

Here's mine. It's a Drag Specialties tach that I bought from Dennis Kirk. It came with a clamp for the handlebars, but I didn't use it: Ijust mounted it to the handlebar risers. The angle is perfect: 5500 rpm, which is the redline on the 96 inch motor, points straight up.

Here are the parts: # H20028 Tach Adapter; # 407395 Inductive RPM Sensor... I'm not sure if those were the manufacturer numbers or dennis Kirk's numbers, but I think they both show up in a search.
The tach adapter was required because the '07 96-incher has single-fire ignition, and the tach will only show half the RPM's without it.
