Default Extended warranty- ys or no?

I'm going this week to finalize my paperwork for my 08 super glide. Is the extended warranty worth the extra money?

Thanks

You don't have to take the warranty now, if you can not decide, but as the bikes 2 year warranty is running out, Harley will notify you and ask if you want to extend your warranty. You can not do this after 2 years. My bike is getting near there and I just received the letter. I am still asking is it worth it?

Just be careful and read the fine print and ask questions. The 3 year extended warranty for example is really only a ONE year extension! But they do include some other stuff for the full 3 years that's not in the original warranty (tires I think for example) so that's how they can get away calling it a 3 year EXTENDED warranty - extends some of the coverage for the first two years and adds ONE year on. Seems wicked expensive to me, but to each his own.

I never get any extended warranties.
Too much fine print written by lawyers.

They might beOK, I just hate fine print, clauses etc..., therefore I don't get them.

I got the dealer to add it to my deal .
After getting the best price on the bike , I mentioned that another dealer offered me the extra year service included in price ,
My dealer matched the deal .Plus I ended up getting a blue bike instead of black that is also a few hundered more .
I like the black , I just didnt like the reddish , maroon decal that was on the tank .

Thanks guys, yeah I might just wait but my dealer is telling me it will cost a lot more if I do it later. The extended warranty did seem a bit pricey and I'd rather have that extra cash for mods.

I just looked into this since my warrenty is up in a couple of months. The tire stuff is extra, plus there's a $50 deductable per visit. It does seem pricey for one more year.

Has anyone looked into aftermarket extended warrenties? Do they even have them for motorcycles or is that just a car thing?

I have never gotten an extended warranty on any bike. I decided to take my chances and found a good indy.

Most people agree that the extended warantee is a bad deal (if it didn't work in HD's favor they wouldn't offer it.) But it's a bad deal statistically over the field of people who buy them. For some people, something bad happens with their bike and they work out. The question is: do you feel lucky?
