Detachable. After market will save you some large coin.

For new, my favorite source: www.leatherneckjim.com
Have his stuff and love it. Priced right.

Also have some used Dyna bags in the classifieds - sold without brackets -retro look

Cheap Willie and Max imitation leather with EZbrackets is what I did. Only use them when needed on trips. Imitation leather does have it's advantages.

Leather Pros---Garry Campbell and his company make some great bags. Thick leather, reinforced with black plastic, and a really slick quick detach system

Check for some deals on E-bay. I just got a set of brand new Willie&Max Rangers for $90. I'll get me either some easybrackets or ghost brackets and have a little over $200 in a nice set of bags.

Also, you could look at a Biker's Friend or Lazy rider. I have a Bikers Friend and it is great for overnight trips. I only got the bags for my 7-10 day summer trips.
