Default Exhaust noise

I've read in a couple of magazines that there are some cities and even some states that are starting to crack down on loud exhaust pipes. Have any of you been harrassed because of your pipes? I've heard that California is going to require stock exhaust pipes on all motorcycles pretty soon, is that true?

Nothing yet I've heard about in "Live Free Or Die" NH !!! Without a helmet law, doubt much will change, and likely if it does, they'll grandfather older bikes. But then who knows what the future will bring?

Doug, if you don't mind, please fix the dents and have the chrome redone on my mufflers. After you put your old ones back on, send mine to my home address.

To whomever has my ex-wife, please do not return her, regardless of any upcoming changes in noise ordinances.

cave creek arizona- the town just up from here enacted a noise law- 80db which is pretty quiet.

http://www.cavecreek.org/Archive.asp?ADID=770

we cruise through there all the time, on weekends the local po often has a truck with a boom on it with a listening device to measure the sound.

i'm not really into the loud pipes anymore, i guess i got that outta my system years ago, got the new fat cats with the quiet baffle, tones down the bark a lot so in 2nd gear puttin it goes into stealth mode.

Well Skip, I'm about 85 miles from you, I swear I hear you start your bike up on still, clear, cold mornings

Mark, some cities are cracking down. Apparently Denver, Co is real serious about it. Up here where I live, I think when I hear bullets wiz by my head when riding, I'll know that the neighbors think the pipes are too loud.Right now they are just pulling over and letting me go by them.

John, I am sending the dented ones to you in exchange, once I have finished drilling holes in them. I'll probably wait until I've dropped the bike several more times, though.

I just hope they don't pass a law requiring stock pipes here in Virginia! I think my pipes will pass a noise check with the flapper valve closed.

If I have to run stock pipes on my bike I'm selling it. For me, the Harley sound is part of the experience.

I paid $75 to the City of Ocean Ridge a few months ago.

I don't care... I consider it dues. I'm with Dizzy if I hafta put my stocks back on (I saved them just in case)

I cruised by the nice officer at 35mph (speed limit on the beach - A1A)with my clutch in and idling. He was a dick.
