Wide Glide Tires
Changing out the stock wire rims for 80 spoke front and solid rear and I'm thinking about changing from the Dunlop to either Metzelers or Avons. Runnin into problems finding matching sizes with what I already have. For those out there who have changed out the 'Lops, let me know what you went to and how they're holding up for you. (less than 3 weeks left until redeployment, YEE HAAAA!!!)

I went to the ME880's. Love them and will never go back to the Dunlops. They feel a lot better in the twisties and give me a better over all feel in the handling of the bike. Mines an 05 so the rear tire is a different size from anything after the 06 but I know there are guys on here that have them.

I replaced both stock wheels on my 08 WG with billet wheels, stayed with 21" on the front but changed to 18" on the rear.
The Metzeler 880 is lower profile than the stock Dunlop and even with the 1" larger rear wheel the bike sits about the same and the speedometer is still accurate.
As BigJ mentioned, the bike feels and handles better with the Metzelers.

The rear wheel is 5.5 and I stayed with the 160 width.
The Storm wheels are from Pro-One, http://www.pro-one.com/Billet_Wheels...ckets_s/24.htm
I like the looks of spokes, but I ride alone a lot and have been stranded by flat tires too many times. These are also a lot easier to clean.
I gave the stock wheels to my brother to put on his Softy.

I had the dealer order and installmost of the add ons for the bike so it would be "done" when I picked it up.
They ordered from Pro-One, but I don't know what they paid. Listed price is $1000. The wheels come ready to mount with the bearings installed.
Pro-One didn't have the wheels on the shelf, so it took six weeks for them to arrive.[:@]

Going with Metzlers to replace my stock Dunlops on what I have read about the ME880's. Actually got 15K plus out of the stock tires! Got a local Indy who is getting them and installing them. I pulled the wheels and tires off and will be taking them to him. Good luck with what you get and on your deployment. Our C-5's are ready if you need to haul anything BIG!

RE: Wide Glide Tires
I went with the stock Dunlops on my WG's first tire change, but I think I'll switch to something else when these wear out. They are fine in dry conditions, but make the bike feel like it's not steady in the wet. I hate the feeling, but I've never actually slipped - it just feels weird. Dry, I can lean the bike until my boot heels drag and she feels very secure, but then again I don't push it either. I do like the fact I can go 15K on a tire, they aren't THAT expensive and my indy can do a change for a really good price. The stealer can go to hell...
