Default Shocks & Calipers Installed! ( more pics added )

I got everything done and my other problem fixed.... Took her for a ride, Rides good but I'm getting a chirpingsound coming from the bottom somewhere.... I read somewhere after lowering you may have to remove the lower belt guard... Nope didn't make a difference.... Maybe it's the belt.... Seems OK I can push it up about a inch and 1/2 .... Should it be tighter then that?

I can't see where anything is rubbling.... If I put the bike in neutral it don't do it.If I'm gassing it/putting pull on it, it don't make the sounds... only after I let off it or at a cruse speed.... I can gag it andno soundstill I back off..... makes me think the belt need tightened!

Oh yeah it don't make the noices when sitting still running in gear or in neutral.

Whatyou guys think?

Here's a pic but the dang batteries died after I took it couldn't take anymore.... I'll getmore tomorrow and get some better pics.

Donnie

Sounds like it could be belt slop. Not sure if it would be top or bottom. Trying to picture in my head where the slop would occur under de-celeration, as when you described it...
It may be the top, but I'm not sure, it's already after 5pm here[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

Donnie, when you lower the bike, you slightly shorten the distance between the pulleys. As a result the tension on your drive belt loosens. You probably need to adjust the drive belt.

By the way, you just made an incredible looking bike look even better.

If it's1/2 way decent tomorrow I will get it out and try tightening it up a little at a time.... 1/2 turn each side, test drive, and more if needed.... Man I hope that's all it is!

Thanks for the kind words Jmpancoast!

Thank you too Hk

Bike looks good Naz. Your belt is way loose if you can push it up an inch and a half. The spec onlowered 07 models is 1/4"-5/16" with 10 lbs of force. Not sure what it is on pre 06 models, but I used 3/8" on the 03 Wide Glide I had. If you don't have a good feel for how much force 10 lbs is, you should be able to twist the belt about 45° with your fingers when it's realclose to being right.
Check the alignment as well while you're at it.A misaligned wheel can also cause the chirping as the belt will rub on the edge of the sprocket.

dropping the rear really makes the ride[sm=bling.gif]
can get a tool from the stealer to measure the belt tension to insure it is correct.
