RE: slip on sound
No you cannot take the baffles out of all slip ons, I have Python 3's and they have baffles that are not removeable but, it is not needed, those pipes sound great. As far as the difference between SE's and SE 2's I am not sure. I do not know what other manufactures offer removable baffles, usually you can tell if there is bolts on them.

SE II's have an awesome sound. Put them on my 05 WG before I picked it up. Started up for the first time and WOW! What a rumble. Put around 5,000 miles on the bike and have since replaced them with V&H BSS's. Like the look of the V&H's and they are even louder than the slip-ons....

A friend of mine has SEIIs on his 04 FXDWG. He removed baffles. Persoanlly don't like the sound. When he lets off throttle its continual pop is annoying. I wish he would adjust the carb to take care of it. My fxdwg has SEs and would also like to know the difference.

I've the got the seIIs on a fuel injected bike. They sound pretty damn good. Noticably louder and deeper than stock. They won't have that really wicked "frappp" that pipes have, or be as loud as pipes, but they still sound good. Much better than stock. Bang for buck, they're a great upgrade.
