Jake,
I would suggest going with a touring seat with backest.
Corbin has a couple different ones for the Dynas. Their 2up seats offer adjustable/removeable backrest.
Their Oval Back backrest is very comfortable. If you went this route you wouldn't have to mess with changing you tail lights.
Also, I think the passenger would be more comfortable with the adjustable backrest verses the sissybar.

I use my QD sissybar for hanging luggage and camping gear on it, and it works very well for that purpose.

Wow! Now thats a cool idea! 2 seats. Stock One for Jake when he is Blasting around alone...... And Corbinone when the Mrs. wants to join you.
Shoot it takes about a minute to swap seats. Doug, Could it really be that easy? Don't know very much about the Corbin.

The Haulen *** backrest is another option. I'm not crazy about how they look andmay take away from the sex appeal of your ride.

But hell, your wife will be on the back. Not like you're gonna get some strange anyway.

Seriously though, these are cheaper, no new signal hardware, and easy on -easy off.

Another one here whobought the lay down plate with the re-location kit. I also have bags so I needed to do the relocation kit. I personally like to be seen at night so a little not so cool parts is what I live with.
PS Bad a$$ ride!

Jake, I bought my bike in November of 06 under protest from my wife who said she'd never go 10 feet from it if I was driving it. I never expected her to ride in other words. A couple of weeks later, I'm at a dealer on the way to the airport to pickup the parts for a detachable sissy bar to have my kids wrap up and give me for Christmas that year. It was not one of my usual dealers but it was a large one. The kid behind the parts counter talks me into getting the rigid kit anyway because he also told me the signal lights would look like crap when the sissy bar wasn't installed. I bought, hook line and sinker. I hated it from the start. I just do not like my bike with a sissy bar and/or a windshield and there's no 2 ways about it. To top it off, I also had to buy her a Sundowner seat which I've since traded for a Tallboy but it basically looks the same. Anyway, I've since changed to the detachable kit and I only use the sofa seat and sissy bar when she rides. IMO, the signals with the detachable hardware do not look near as bad as he made it out. Sure, they don't flow as well as the stock wing-stemmed lights did but they don't look that bad to me at all. It's certainly worth it to me to be able to take that sissy bar and seat off unless absolutely necessary.

My buddy has a customized 03 lowrider that isn't as hot as yours but it holds its own and he went with removing the stemmed signal lights altogether and put on the panacea light with the turn signals built into it. I have to be honest, I can't see when he signals near as well. He's even so conscious about it he uses hand signals when he's about to turn. At night, they show up great but how much do we ride at night compared to daytime. I wouldn't risk not being seen in time when getting ready to turn with a car behind me.

Here's a picture of mine with the stock signals and the rigid sissy bar anda fewwith the detachables installed. I've also since added the Kuryakyn chrome bezels with the sylvania iridium coated bulbs. At least I have peace of mind that people should be able to see me when I signal.

2007fxdc, That doesn't look bad at all. Looks good with the smoked tail light as well.
Now you got me thinkin about my Rigid Sissy bar and rack.

It seems to me that a lot of the Rides on here that have the Smoked laydown tail lightand the signal relocation kit look pretty sweet IMHO. The lack of Chrome on the relocation kitcombined with the Smoked Tail light flows. Not that noticable.
There is always a trade off and 2007fxdc looks Good.

Doug, is there a difference between a sissybar and a backrest? She isn't getting a big backrest, just something to help stop her from sliding back.

Thanks for the info guys. Bottom line is I'm doing it for the Mrs., but she isn't getting a touring seat, no way/no how! The bike looks great with either the Sidekick Custom or the Brawler Solo; they're staying! The detachable I'm adding isn't the mini, but the next size up just to give my wife a feeling of security. She doesn't ride that often with me, even though she enjoys it. It's just that we have two kids and one of us is always with them. When I'm not, I like to ride. I'm also weary of not having rear turn signals. I loved the idea of the Run/Brake/Turn and that's why I spent the money on them.

I'll have to keep checking around.
