Default Am I taking the corners a bit too fast????

I was in the garage a few minutes ago looking for the oil drain plug and noticed my primary has a big scrape just below the derby cover........actually a smooth flat spot about an inch long and 1/2" wide.

I knew my pegs were getting some hard use on the corners but I had no idea I was actually about to lay the darn thing down on some of those high-speed, sweeping curves I'm laying into on a regular basis....[sm=insomnia.gif][sm=oopssign.gif][sm=yikesomg.gif]

If you even suspect your leaning that far, your doing a hell of job on the corners
Keep up the good work, just be carefull

I was wondering...
Has anyone thought about putting a magnesium skid plate under the muffler brackets and primary cover?

UM YA!!! I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE RIDE THESE BIKES LIKE THEY ARE CROTCH ROCKETS? ITS A CRUISER I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY EVERY ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE TO HAMMERDOWN BUT NOT EVERY TWISTY ROAD YOU COME ACROSS. IF YOUR DRAGGING PEGS PIPES AND "PRIMARY COVERS" YOUR PRETTY MUCH ASKING FOR TROUBLE. ALL IT TAKES IS ONE ROCK, OILSLICK OR WHATEVER AND THEN YOUR DONE! JUST MY OPINION........

I scrape my exhaust bracket almost every time I make a sharp right. I have to execute right handers very gingerly. Blame it on going with looks over function, but I'll put up with it for the sake of having my bike nice and low.

Plus, they make motorcycle tires round for a reason. I see plenty of bikes where the nips are still on the outside edge of the tires. Lean that sucker! It's a great feeling really hooking a nice long fast sweeping turn.

I have the same thing. Just be really careful, I have lifted the rear wheel twice. I am thinking about getting longer rear shocks to imrove my lean a bit. I have a 1/2 inch of tread I can't use because I lift.
