Default Street Bob bars on an FXDC

Oh wise ones....

I got me some SB bars I'm gonna put on my FXDC. I've been reading the posts here, and still have questions:

- If I want to be real "ghetto" about this, can I get away with my existing cables? I've read that the wires will reach, but what about throttle cables, clutch, and brake line?

- Since I'm not drilling and hiding the electrical wires, is there something that I can put over them other than that cr*ppy looking Chinese plastic tubing? Where can I get (at least) the cloth-looking stuff or better, is there anything slicker I can use?

- If I have to change out the cables and brake line, is there black rubber line/cables I can get cheaper/better than the MoCo replacement parts? I don't want to go all braided line if I still have the electrical flopping in the wind - kinda a buzz-kill.

Thanks for any insights!

I am actually in the process of doing the same thing. I just came in from the garage from working on it. You can get away with using your wiring as there is enough tucked away in the frame to reach. You will need to replace all the other cables though I chose to just use stockStreet Bob Cables. I found mine on wonderful Ebay.

Check out the thread WS6 Formula did about cleaning up wiring. He used the nylon braided sleeving to consolidate his harnesses.

Here's a link:

I have also seen some similar stuff made of a braided metal material which is available in rolls on eBay.
