I'm guessing they sent the tubes out and had them coated (and I don't mean powder coated). There are different types of coatings that can be professionally applied that will achieve that look.

Talking 2013 FXDF in FL
This is my Fatbob right after my first ride. Completely stock at this time. I've changed out the seat and pegs since then. Not sure if I'll change out the pipes. Depends on if I find a good deal on a set.

Right now it is my daily ride. As long as it isn't coming down cats and dogs. So far I have been able to get home before the early evening monsoons kick in here in central FL.

Also added the engine guard.

Just ran past my first 500 on my '14 Fat Bob yesterday!!!! A quick jaunt through central Texas.

Greetings from Louisiana. It has been some damn good riding weather here in the south. Ever go out to around Toledo Bend by the state border? Some good riding out that way. Its a few hour trip to get there, but a damn fine way to waste a day or the weekend. Also lets see that bike.
