RE: Fat Bob Squadron - owners check in!
Ok, I'm here too. Got my Fat Bob in November. I tried several dealers across the west since I was traveling (kept missing the bike), and finally got it in central Florida where I am spending the winter along the coast. I had to have the dark blue pearl, but I think the red ones look a bit better. I don't care for standing out too much though. I've about decided on the Rush slipons, probable go with the SERT also. Got the Essentials kit too. I should have skipped it. I like the sissy bar, but not too fond of the windshield (looks or performance). I'll be in Daytona monday and maybe acouple other days. 1st bike event of the year. Gotta love Freedom.

Picked mine up yesterday. It'll take me some time to get used to forward controls (the only option over here). I don't like the crappy head lights that don't work properly but apart from that it's a great bike. I collected it from the dealers and rode around the Oxfordshire countryside for over a hundred miles before taking it home. It handles better than I expected but I didn't open up the power as I'm running it in. I didn't want to get off it. Here are some pictures:
This was taken outside Aldbourne Church. I stopped for a glass of Wadworth 6X at the Blue Boar on the village green. During WWII Aldbourne was home to members of America's 101st Airborne Division and its 506 Parachute Regiment.
These were taken at Uffington Castle. The earthworks you can see in the background are what remains of an 8th century BC hill fort.

Thanks. I ordered the bike back in September without having seen one. I didn't know what it would look like in black pearl until I saw yours. I then knew I'd made a good decision. I like what you've done to your bike especially the pipes and the tail light. I'm thinking of getting some Rush slip ons myself.

Cheers. Yeah it's been a long wait but it's worth it now I've finally got the bike. Once I've done a few mods to get it to fit me comfortably it'll be perfect. It's not the smoothest or fastest bike I've ever had but it's probably the best.
Looks like you've changed your tyres. What are they and do they make a difference?

Thanks for the compliments. I got the axle nut covers going on when I get back in town....then a SERT and I think I will be finished.....at least for a while ...I have a 911 that needs some attention from my wallet. I think those are the only toys that have a higher tax than the Harley Tax

RE: Fat Bob Squadron - owners check in!
I saw my first "other" Fat Bob out in the wild this past Sunday afternoon.
I was heading north in Hwy 1 somewhere between Half Moon Bay and Pacifica. The other rider was heading south on a Black Demin Fat Bob. I saw the dual headlights about a 1/4 mile ahead and knew right away.
These bikes look pretty damn cool in action.

On another note, later that same afternoon I saw someone riding a Crossbones, which was another first.

Squadron Wench reporting in!!!!
Been riding my @ss off!!!! Saturday was a trip up to Fernandina Beach for lunch at The Surf Restaurant, sitting in the sun with a big group feasting on seafood. Sunday was a ride with a small group of friends down to Daytona. Another perfect day! Headed out early and took the scenic route down. First stop was at the convention center and the Harley extravaganza to pick up our HOG pins and check out all the bikes and gear. Then headed over to the speedway, ate lunch at Hooter's directly across the street from the speedway, then went over to check out vendors and such. Took the more direct route home and drove into the garage as the sun was setting. I took off solo this morning and headed back down to Daytona to participate in the women's Harley ride for MDA. Kinda cool having all those women and their Harley's in one place. The parking lot reeked of estrogen and exhaust! LOL I think what was really cool was the wide variety of people! Young, old, different nationalities, tall, short, thin, not so thin, there were all kinds of women and all kinds of rides. Then we proceeded to **** off everyone in Daytona by having traffic stopped as we went on our police escorted ride from the speedway to the convention center. Not the longest fundraising ride I've ever been on but neat in the fact that it was through the streets of Daytona during bike week. Lots of waving and horn honking, people taking pictures, news crews riding beside us taking film. It was definitely an experience. Once we got to the convention center I hauled butt back home as they were calling for severe thunderstorms this afternoon and I didn't feel like getting caught in them. Will probably head back down to Daytona at least a couple of times before it's all said and done
That's about it from Florida and bike week for now! The weather is here, wish you were beautiful!
