Any way to tell if Stage upgrades done to computer?
I'm wondering if/how you can tell if an upgrade was done to the computer.I bought an 05 Superglide(FXD I)that the original owner had a Screaming Eagle air filter and Vance and Hines Short shots put on.He told me he had the computer upgraded at the time of install.I took his word that the receipts were in a box somewhere as he was moving and I would get them as soon as he unpacked.Well its been 2 months now and I still haven't gotten the receipts but in all fairness I still haven't unpacked some boxes myself from a move 8 years ago.So I now thinking I might be melting my bike down while riding.Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

The dealer can scan it or something. If you knwo where he had it done or a good idea of the area just call the dealers and ask. they will just want to know the guys name for a search. then they can print you a sheet with the work they have done.

If you have a tach, see if it shuts down at 5800 rpm or not. Downlaod takes you to approx. 6200.
Like said, dealer can tell you.
Read the plugs, if you have have a lot of aluminum flakes on them, you are probably screwed.
Dealer should be able to read your data port and tell you.
Do your pipes crackle for a long time, after shut off?
Does it smell like it's time to throw the bacon on?
Does it feel like it's time to put the bacon on?
Are the pipes cherry red at the exhaust ports?
Does the bike backfire or pop a lot if you rev it up, and release the throttle quickly?
Does it shoot 2 foot flames out the back?
Do you hear any pinging?
Guy probably told you the truth. Might be worth a few bucks to run it on a dyno and see what the AFRs are running, through the power band.
Hope all is well,
