RE: '06 Low Rider Front End Wobble
May not help, but I described a similar problem with a Honda to a master mechanic. He said to check the obvious, which you have already mentioned. If all these items check out, jack the bike up and check the fall away of the front end.He said if the stem nut was too tight, the front end won't properly compensate for things the back end responds to, this causing a "shimmy". When the bike is jacked up, you should be able to just touch the front end from the center position and it should easilyswing to the side on its own.

I think you are on the right track, here. How is the condition or your tires? Have you checked to make sure your tires aren't over/under inflated? I would recommend having your wheels and tires retrued and balanced.
It doesn't take much to get a shimmy with these bikes.
Also is there an accompaning vibration, or just the shimmy? Is it speed related? Does it do it with the clutch disengaged at speed?
Hope this helps,
DougJ

Just the shimmy, it seems to lessen at higher speeds. New rear tire and front is in good shape. I've heard itdoesn't matter but the rear is a radial. Haven't tried the clutch disengaged. When I get decent weather I will post some pictures, quite a few changes and the custom paint is unreal!

Check the fallaway and spoke true if it's a laced wheel. Then get the wheel re-balanced. Thenre-torque allcritical fasteners on the front end. Then measure the rake on both forks to be sure the triple tree is not bent. Then get a caliper and measure all 3 points on the triple tree to make sure it's not bent. This is all easy stuff you can do yourself before you go to the dealer but best to get a service manual if you don't have one.
Oh check the tire pressure too. BTW, there is a new stem nut washer that replaces the factory one for your bike. It costs $1.70. Might as well put that on and re-torque the stem nut.

The bike was wrecked, not bad, just cosmetic. Changed to drag bars, if that could matter. I'm thinking the wheel needs to be trued, any suggestions?
Thanks
