Man I had V&H BR’s on my softail and I drug the hell out of them. I could drag them in a parking lot and even on the freeway on ramps, 200 lbs rider, I wasn’t lowered either. another thing I didn’t like about them was that they were so close to the passenger peg.

So help me decide. Right now the bike has V&H Straightshots http://www.vanceandhines.com/a108_st...shots_dyn.html

Going to a Troublemaker is that much of an upgrade? I was only doing it because of the appearance of the slash cuts (softail style). Aside from looks sell me on the Hookers.

Your gonna have a harder time finding your bike in a busy parking lot...
No such thing as a busy parking lot where I live!
Last summer I saw one bike in town with big radius, and I think it was a tourist. If I see him again this year I'll send him on his way !

Wouldn't seem all that hard, as long as the brackets on the back side would cooperate, to cut the pipes how you like them. I wouldn't like the edge getting roughed up and potential for rust on the edge, but you'd have something "different". If you can't get it off the shelf, make it.

Have you looked at the two pictures of the pipes?
How far back on the pipes would you have to cut, to make the ends look like the softail pipes!

Cheers... Ben.

Well, ahh yeah I have......
I don't see a problem, I guess you feel comfortable doing it or you don't. Wouldn't scare me. You can probably get it to look better than the manufacturer could anyways, you notice how the slashes don't really match up all that well on the Softail? You can bolt the pipes on, then tape or magic-marker where you want the slashes, remove them and cut and grind or file to get them how you want them. No reason to be afraid JUST because it's not a simple bolt-on, like the old saying "cut to length, hammer to fit, paint to match"

I guess you could, but you'd be removing a good peice of the front pipe. And these are'nt long pipes to start with.

Cheers... Ben.
