I bought the Kuryakyn Smoked Tail Light Lens for my 07 Street Bob (part # 4767, says that it fits the '03-'07 Dyna's) as has quite a few people here. Long Story short, I doesnt fit due to the electrical board that the Tail light, signals and so on plug into. I sent pics of my tail light bracket to Kuryakyn, and they said that on their demo bike, the electrical board sits into the bracket "flush", mine sits up right, and sticks out of the bracket (hopefully my picture loads so you can see what I mean). I called the local dealership, and they checked an '06, and an '08 street bob, and they have the same setup as mine. SO................what did you guys do to make the Kuryakyn lens fit????

Doesnt look out of the ordinary. Dumb question....did you use the foam gasket (or at least sandwich it) between the lens and the tail light assembly. Mine fits just fine.

 

Lol....yea...I tried it, but actually the hole in the lens (where the bulb plugs in to) hits the electrical board. I tried to just put the lens up there to check the fit, without the bulb or anything plugged into it, and it wont fit either. Like I said after theKuryakyn techs saw my pictures, they agreed there was no way it was gonna fit. They actually started worrying that Harley might have changed the design, and they didnt know it yet, and didnt have a fix for it.

 

I don't recall anyone posting this problem..... whats the visual difference between what you took off vs what you are trying to get on, could it be they sent you the wrong part.

 

I just put one on my 08 SB, no problems.Any chance you got the wrong one?

 

They were wondering that also, then they said "no" its the right one. ???? Can't Figure it out ????

 

Strange. IF it makes you feel better I had that tailight on for about a year and after riding it for about that long the wires seperated from the led circuit board and I was unable to reattach. I tried sodering it but no luck. A waste of money in my opinion. I was bummed out. It looked good though

 

I put the low profile smoked LED taillight on my 06 streetbob and it fit pretty good. didn't fit quite as nice as the HD oem lens. I had to use some black RTV silicone around the inside of the chrome backing then reinstall the Kury lens so that water wouldn't get inside though, I was having a problem with water getting inside while washing my bike.
