Install Luggage Rack? Do or Don't?

Install Luggage Rack? Do or Don't?
I bought a luggage rack for my lowrider. Thought
I wanted it on there. Problem is the license plate bracket will have to go. Now, it has a nice
lay down type bracket. The luggage rack will have to bolt on to the seat bolt and the license plate
bracket, which doesn't work with what I have.
So, I need some help in deciding to buy a regular type bracket and install it, or forget it and just be happy without it.
Thanks,

RE: Install Luggage Rack? Do or Don't?
A luggage rack is a handy thing to have.
I was able to use the factory laydown plate bracketwith my Motherwell rack.
The Motherwell will not work with a real laydown bracket, like some have gotten from a forum member(Hogridda?) Least not so far as I've seen.

I personally would'nt want a bike without a luggage rack, backrest, and passenger seat, but we're all different, and Harley can accommadate any combination of the above. Any Harley parts dept should have whatever you need, or can get it quickly. '05s are slightly different from new ones.

I'm also in Lewisville. If you'd like to swing by, I'll have a look at what you've got and offer suggestions for a solution. In fact, I may have something that will work. I'm near Vista Ridge. PM for specifics, if interested...
EDIT: On second thought, the only rack I have available is for use with a solo seat. I sold the side plate/sissy bar mounted one...

I bought a removeable (quick-release) one from the dealer. Fits right on when I need and comes right off when I don't. Most of the time I leave it off unless I am doing an overnighter or the wife is with me. Might want to take a look at one of those so you can keep the best of both worlds.

Here is a picture with the rack on and with it off. Holds lots of stuff when needed but pops right off when I don't want it. Good luck!
