I haven't really looked yet but how much should a good set of gaiters cost? Nash sells them for $45 ,
You can get the triumph gaitors for less than 20 I think.They're super easy to install if you've got a lift.Just make sure they fit a 1970 Triumph and the internal diameter is 2"

Thanks Ed. There's a Triumph dealer about a mile from my house. Yes I do have a lift. I'm guessing that I just have to drop the fork tubes off the trees slip them on 4 screws torqued and done.
I just replaced and internally wired my barsand relocated my directionals this pastweekend.I got it done in a nose to the grindstone 8 hours. It helps to be an electrician with the wiring end.

thanks for the answer - parts guy at my local the other day gave me good suggestion - remove tommygun heat shield and heat paint the pipe black, reinstall heat shield. what do you think?

I would like to have the pipe black instead of gold under the openings in the heat shield. I don't think any high heat paint would hold up (I maybe wrong??) I have my bike in photoshop with the opening blacked out and it looks good.

anyone have an idea how to do this and have it hold up?
