2 pads of .00 steel wool
5 gallons of elbow grease
buffing wheel

Still needs a a little more buffing but what the heck.

The anodizing is tough the hardest part was getting it off at the bottom of the ribs. I had to wrap the steel wool over the edge of a hard plastic squeegee. The camera lies a bit,the bandalsmost matches the shine of the battery cover in person. Almost

To get rid of the anodizing, boil it!

Did this in the Marine Corps to police brass. Makes polishing easier.

Shawn, and anyone else interested...
Removing anodizing is easy and effortless, if you have access to a dishwasher. Just stick it in there with the rest of the dishes, add your detergent (caustic based, as most are) run it through the process and the parts come out with no anodizing left anywhere. Also works great on hard anodized pots and pans. Boiling an anodized part in just water does nothing to the finish.
