Wife's hair blow dryer? I've used it for other stuff, not sure why it wouldn't work for that.

Just put it back before she gets home. Saves some hassles.

I dont think a hair dryer is hot enough for heat shrink.

Wasn't sure, never did the heat shrink, but always use it to take decals off new vehicles, reflectors, stuff like that.

You can find one at Radio Shack or Home Depot. It might be a little cheaper at Harbor Frieght. You might check ebay, too.

any of the cheap ones will work.

a hair dryer will not work not hot enough you will be there a week.

Lighter, small propane torch or a heat gun i like the lighter or the torch unless your doing some big jobs way away from the bike. You have some control of the flame on the lighter and the torch.

Be carefull with a heat gun as to whats in the distance behind you or you maybe crying when you look at your paint or chrome that you didn't see behind you.

micro torch I think is what is in the service and HD elect manual, and in gm kent moore tools also. That being said for the proper tool.
a hair dryer style heat gun is not good. heat is not concentrated.
the small hand held torches like mini propain or some druggie's tourch work best or even some chiefs tourch with the pressurized lighter fluid.
know any chiefs or crack heads?

I've always used a zippo for the flexible heat shrink and a small torch for the rigid stuff.
