Wow this is an old thread. If you want a 21" laced wheel on an '06 or newer Superglide your best bet would be to either have a 21" rim laced to your stock hub if you have spoked wheels or buy a take off spoked wheel from a spoked wheel model if you have mags and have it laced with a 21".

 

Back when this thread originated, there weren't many options other than lacing a new rim to your original hub or havung the wheel custom built. Now, J and P cycles offers a complete 21" wheel for about $350.00. Still cheaper to build your own. J and P's wheel in almost half the cost of getting one custom built.

The only place I have seen a raw hub is through Harley and they ain't cheap.

I'm also running 21 up front and an 18 for the rear 60 spoke laced wheels w/Metzler 880 tires. This is up from the stock 19 & 16 inch. Not only has the look improved but the handling improved also. I was watcing the Low Life on Speed Channel and they were lacing up wheels, looked like a great project. I added some purple UV LED (from Custom Dynamics) highlighting the wheels and engine. Its low key and makes the chrome look awesome at night, without looking like a Rose Parade float. See Photo Gallery Custom 2004 LR.

to revisit and update everyone...
i have been wanting this mod really bad and been researching hard.
so... in 08' the softail was equipped with a 1" axle which means that the softail laced wheel will now fit on the midglide 49mm front end!
part# 43700-08 in case some one wants it as bad as me!

 

hopefully pics of new project to come this winter!!!
that and gimp midget apes with no handlebar switches and wrapped exhaust and lowered rear end... yeah... it never stops.

 

did you have to adjust your front fender or did it just snug right up under it. how is the handling on the bike now you notice any difference in cornering or with groves in the road? i got a 21" comming in the mail that im lacing to my hub

 

so yer saying a stock 08 softail wheel will fit an 06up fork? guess it makes sense actually - know if custom spacer or anything needed?
