Looks good buttman. Are they chrome sliders or polished?

I had it easy as my 03 Dyna had the 39mm legs, the same as the Sportster, so I simply found a used Sportster 21 inch wheel,
Currently running whitewall Avon's,

If you are pretty sure you want to do this and can live with chrome spokes, you might want to go ahead and get them. J & P and has a few sets left. After that, I am not sure how available they will be at a reasonable price. I paid $22.99 because they are a closeout item. If you wait, you may end up paying Buchanan $150.00 for a workable set. They certainly will be of higher quality than what I used.

things I'd like to do first. I'm guessing the J&P spokes will be gone by the time
I get around to trying this.
Which brings me back to the WG set up.
If I could find a WG owner that switched to cast wheels who was willing to sell me their
stock set up, could I use the stock WG spokes and wheel with my hub? do you think?
Anyone got an opinion on this?
Thanks for all your replies jmpancoast.

The Wide Glide spokes won't work. The WG has a conical type hub which laces from the inside and the outside which allows the use of spokes having the same length between the head and the bend.
The other Dynas have a spool type hub which are laced through the holes from the outside in. Because of this, the spokes are two different lengths between the head and the bend. This allowsa spoke to overlap the one next to it in the configuration.
I never noticed the difference until I starting researching this mod. LOL, as a matter of fact, the research consisted of me spending $45.00 buying the wrong spokes.

I guess you just saved me at least $45.00!! ...
Thanks for all your help.
The mod looks great ... I hope to incorporate it on my motorcycle soon.
Sounds like I'm gonna have some fun finding spokes.
Uh oh ... Maybe I don't give up ... I just thought of something else ...
what about the sportster spokes and wheel with my hub?? ...
I feel like I'm being a pain in the ****.
Sorry ... I'm just really interested in ways I can afford to do this mod.

The correct Sportster (or narrow glide) rim and spokes should be an option.
And you, or anyone else are welcome to ask questions. A year ago, I didn't know dung about a Harley. Still don't know much, but what I do know was because of the guys here on the forum. It was stock when I got it and ain't nobody's wrenches been on it except mine (wheel truing an exception).

looks good. and i have a 2004 sportster hub and the spokes after i replaced the whole rim and tire. if anyone else wants to try and do there own. i seen them put a 24inch rim on a chopper from occ wonder how that would look guess the sidewalls on that would be tiny. anyway makes your bike look a lot better with the 21 looks like they would just make that standard from the dealer.

I'm gonna dig a little deeper into this.
I think I'm gonna call the dealer and see if they have any spare parts
kicking around the shop.
Thanks again for all your help!
