Texas License Plate Question
Friends,
I'm wanting to purchase a Kury Curved Laydown License plateframe for my 07 FXDC. However, I have the add on plate for the Texas inspection sticker (required of course) which is full width and flat.
Any Texas riders found a way to install the curved laydown and the inspection sticker plate?
I'd love to see a picture before I throw money at the Kury.
Big Thanks in Advance,
Rick

RE: Texas License Plate Question
the curved laydown Kury is nice - but it is a real tight fit. In the end, I only used the base and not the frame. If your tag has 6 digits, the frame may actually partially cover some portions of the end digits. Personally I don't want to give the constabularies any added reason to pull me over.
post an pic of what your inspection plate looks like.

RE: Texas License Plate Question
I have the Kury on my Bob. Originally when I put it on I took the generic inspection plate and trimmed it with some snips (mine is thin aluminum) flush around the sticker. I left a tab above it to fit under the plate inside the Kury mount. It has a cutout on the bottom edge which gives some clearance for the extra thickness. Ran this way a while and it looked ok. Then went with a Kury laydown LED taillight and took the inspection sticker out of the plate mount. Trimmed it up again and drilled a hole in the tab and mounted it to the rear mounting bolt for the upper belt guard. As far as I have been able to find in the regs, the sticker only has to be "near" the plate and doesn't have to be lit.
Sorry if this is confusing and long winded. Don't have any pics here at the office but pm me and I can get you some from the house.

RE: Texas License Plate Question
Here is what I did for my Texas Inspection sticker hope it will help you. First I went to Home Depot and bought a 2 inch metal bracket and measured it up to the bike and used a grinder with cutting wheel to cut it down to proper size then sanded and painted it gloss black to match the frame of the bike and then mounted it to the rear screw for the upper belt gaurd. Hope the pics help not too good of a camera to work with.
