Default VH or Bassani on Street Bob

Ok I've narrowed it down to the following exhaust systems for my 07 Street Bob.

1) VH Staggered Short Shots $324.00
2) Bassani 2:1 Road Rage Short Megaphone (part #DNG-5150CL - $750.00 (quote was retail buying direct from Bassani and i may be able to get it a little cheaper)

I like the look of the Bassani best (and so does the wife). Sound is important (I like it loud and with a deep rumble) and performance is too. Saw an article in this months American Cycle and the Bassani performance was an increase in HP from 62.19 to 70.44 and torque was increased from 77.47 to 85.80. There are no performance numbers available on the VH.

Both Systems are available in Ceramic Black and that is really important to me as my Bike is Denim Black.

So in your opinion is the Bassani worth the extra $$$?

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Bassani pipes are definitely high quality and you know the performance specs. I ran V&H Big Shots for a couple of years and I haven't heard any complaints from other owners. Whether they are worth it is subjective. You and your wife like the Bassani best and you can obviously afford them or you wouldn't have bothered posting. Therefore, I would have to say get the Bassanis unless you don't like them $426 more.

Sounds to me like you've already decided. If you both like the looks of the Bassani, and you do care about the performance then I say go for the Bassani. Like Sarge said, the worth of the pipe is subjective, if you like them then they are worth it. Just my .02 cents.

I have read this I copied it from another thread. Look into this before buying the Bassani. I would think the V&H specs would compareto the Bassani performance numbers.

"The main reason I changed was that the Bassani was getting rust showing thru the ceramic coating. My dealer contacte Bassani and they said I had to polish them everytime I washed the bike and that they were not going to replace them. Didnt even offer a set of heat shields"

It's like my Rat Bike so it see'salot of rain and the bad weather..They are top notch in quality and Performance but there Loud.. Sounds like maybe the person was doing alot of real short trips or startingit up cold and shutting it off alot...
