Default UH OH - a 'new' philly in the stable!

Guess I'm just a sucker for red hot sexy babes!

Bit by the harley bug AGAIN! I Gotta be nutz!

Must have something to do with all this friggin' snow and serious cabin fever setting in, but I got a wicked deal on a 2002 Sporty XL1200S (12 way adjustable suspension, dual plug heads, hot cam, 10:1 compression, speedo & tach, SE stage 1, etc) that I just couldn't pass up. Pretty much stock (for now - LOL!) except for drag pipes, seat & sissy bar. Seems to be in excellent shape w/13k and the harley dealer was giving it away (well, almost) for trade-in value - think I stole it! And for sure I'll ride it like I did!!

lolife kinda inspired me to go ahead and look for an older sportster or Triumph to play with like I had in the good 'ol daze (not a typo) - but when I saw what private individuals were thinking theirs' were worth on ebay and craigslist, I started poking around local dealers, and they were swamped w/new and used bikes in the showroom, so figured they might need to move 'em out before the end of the year. Then this red hotty (see pic) spoke to me and it was all over. Made a ridiculous offer, and they said OK!

Gonna likely go in a bit different and milder route with the 'ol girl from what lo did with his, but plans are already taking shape (in my mind anyway). Probably won't start on it for quite a while as I just blew my wad on the bike, so parts will be slow in coming and the garage is friggin' freezing and rather cramped! But a new solo seat is high on my list and researching front ends. Already ordered a service manual. And guess I better go get acquainted with the folks over in the Sportster forum!

Now the bobstah will have the company of a red hot philly (and Molly will have her own ride - but it may be tough teaching old dogs new tricks - heh, heh, she's my lab/golden)

pic of actual bike (stolen from the dealer's website) after photoshopping out the dealer logo crap in the background:

PS - ya might notice I kinda saved this one for my 1000th post!

sweet ... you won't go wrong borrowing ideas from Lolife ... my favourite parts are the springer front and the seat ... the rest is pretty sweet too !

If they breed, can I get the pick of the litter?

Cheers... Ben.

Still have my 81 Ironhead it started life as an xls but has been bobbed over the years. I got an 08 Dyna and luckily I didn't have to give up the sportster

Well, she's pretty darn approving of most everything - as long as she gets fed when I get home, and I have a good supply of tennis *****!
