Bought My '06 Wide Glide today
I finally did it. Today I went to the Aafes dealer on base and picked out my bike.... the '06 Wide Glide. When I first came on this board, I was pretty set on getting a NT and to be honest, that's what I intended on getting when I went into the place, but then I kept thinking about every time I went into the dealer there was only one bike that kept catching my eye.... the WG. So, I decided to go with what I originally wanted and got a vivid black FXDWGI. I am pretty happy with the price, I paid $16,212, but when I get home I have to pay tax and tags... should only be another $1K or so. I take delivery on March 1st, but I won't be home on leave until about March 11th.
I really want a deep rumble and more power than stock. Any suggestions as to what type of mods I should look into?

it's a matter of personal choice... do you like 2 into 1 type exhaust? 2 into 2 ? Chrome? Black ceramic? Short? Long?

Congrats on the new bike!
Screaming Eagle II mufflers are a quick and fairly inexpensive upgrade that will sound a helluva lot better than the stock exhaust. The screaming Eagle stage 1 aircleaner and remap will give you a decent little power boost to go with it.

As everyone else has stated, an A?C kit of some sort with slip-ons and either a Fuel Injection remap or carb rejet should do ya good. (Not sure if you have FI or carb). Personally, I like slip ons as they are inexpensive and allow for low end torque gains. If you want a nice deep rumble and sweet design, take a look at the Vance and Hines exhausts. It's a matter of personal preference and pretty much anything you choose will be good. Good luck and enjoy that new ride!

Congrats!
I bought my new WG last week. I was like you, everytime I spent time in the dealership the WG always caught my eye. Although I liked the Fat Boy, it just didn't do it for me.
My bike is still getting some add-ons at the dealership. I am still waiting for some Kury footpegs to arrive in the parts department to install. I put a new SE slash down muffler, a rear wide tire kit, and a Stage 1 A/C ECM remap.
Have fun. It's a sweet bike!

Congrats on getting the new Glide. Have you thought of the SE2's? I had them put on my Springer before it left the dealership and I like the sound of them. They are loud enough for me without making the neighbors mad when I fire it up. I would also do the Stage I and remap, they also helped my bike perform better. Good luck
