RE: Sportster Tank

With the reduced fuel capacity in a Sporty tank,
I'd think you'd be looking at stopping for gas a whole lot.
Secondly, the SG has a wider tank and the Sporty tank might look a little too skinny
where the stock tank came off. Could be a different look though.

the new ones hold 4.5 gallons.
I don't know what kind of machine diz wants to mount it on,
but I will say this.
If it's a fuel injected model, be ready for some serious
fabricating, welding, wiring, and on and on.
I researched a similar scenario a few months back.
I was wanting to get a stock 06 up SuperGlide tank
and slice it longitudinally, removing 2-3 inches
For looks as an around town hopper
I think it would be great on the mudSickle.
You can swap tanks back and forth
in a matter of an hour or so.
But, the fuel pump is a serious problem,
unless there is an aftermarket alternative,
and now we are talkin more bux than I care
about narrowing a tank.
SportSter pump in the sporty tank, yeah.......
but, it don't pump enough for the big motor.
And on and on.......
If ya do itdiz, I definately would like some pointers.
