preference of seats for the FXDL
Quick question;
I really like the look of the seat on my low rider but as most of you are aware its not very easy on the backside for long distance. Does anyone make a seat that is way more comfortable but follows the lines of the original? Thanks guys

I have 1800 miles on my stock seat. Compared to the badlander I had on my Sporty this thing is like heaven. I have not got the numb feeling yet. I think that its more of fit on the seat. The sundowner seat is a good choice for two up I just don't like the look.

Robshog67, Mornin' from rainy VaBch... bought '07 FXDL in March... after 1K break-in, took little trip from here to Tampa, Fla via a stop in Columbus, Ga on way down, then Myrtle Beach on the way back... 5 days, 2K plus miles, and was very grateful the local dealer recommended I put a Sundowner seat on for the trip... yea it don't look as sporty as the stock one I usually ride with, however for me (and passengers) it was heaven being in the saddle sometimes for twelve hours or more in a single day... like my ridin' buddies tell me.. 'ya can have comfort, or you can have 'the bad look' but ya can't rarely have both ! R/ Ed H, Widows Sons - Virginia

Hey All,
I will put in a plug for Allen at Mean City Cylces. I had him mod a seat for me and it was wonderful workmanship. Soooo comfortable and you could not tell it was modified untilyousat on it.................... I am even thinking of sending them another seat to mod over the winter months.......

Joe

Another vote for Allan at Mean City. I went back and forth with him for several weeks about reshaping my Mustang seat and he was always very quick to respond to any questions and the pricing was extremely reasonable. My seat needed to be redone while he was moving his shop so unfortunately I had it done elsewhere, but do a quick search on either Mean City or his screen name Bad X and you'll find a hundred or more great posts. He's also listed as a Forum sponsor and there is a long thread under the "Vendor For Sale" classifieds.
I can also recommend Mark at Kalin Motorcycle Seats in Waterbury, CT which is where I finally had my Mustang reshaped. Either way, it can be a lot less costly than a new seat and you don't end up with another seat cluttering up the garage.
