Default engine noise @ idle

I have a 07 Wide Glide, V&H Big Radius, T-Max. have about 2800 miles on bike.Once it gets up to temp. and you are rolling to stop I hear a knocking type sound coming from the engine, seems like in lower end. Oil level is OK in all holes, and checked the alignmentand balance of motor to the mounts.I know this may be acrappy discription of what's happening, butdoes anyone have any thoughts?

Are you in gear? or is your clutch pulled in? Mine will do that if I am going too slow for the gear. You might try downshifting a gear or two as you slow down...then engage the clutch...see if that cures your problem. Otherwise I would take it to service department and have it checked out. I would make sure its not issue I described first though.

I think of a knock as a low, deep, heavy sound that repeats as the engine rotates. If it knocks when you lug the engine when pulling a hill it could be a main bearing. But at idle...don't know for sure.

It sounds more like a knock than anything else. This is when the clutch is in and coming to a normal stop.Don't suspect at the bars or pegs. i have a 04 Heritage with 34,000 miles and have had a few other bikes, not HD, but have never heard anything like this. Had a compensator nut come loose on the Heritage and thought the lower end was going to drop out, and this sounds nothing like it. May have to take to the stealer for warranty work.
