high speed balance?

RE: high speed balance?
If the stealer has the proper balancing equipment (electronic tire balancer) you can balance the tires at 2 different speeds. The car tire places can do this too. High speed balance is when its balanced at 45mph i think, with standard balance at 35mph. The last sealership I worked at, we purchased an electronic tire balancing machine and that was one of the selling points...charge extra $$ for flipping a switch. Nice, huh ?

You sure there are no weights? They would be on the spoke nipples, not on the rim. If no weights, I'd say it's time to open the can of whoop-***!! I don't believe a tire and wheel would be so 'perfect' as not need any weight/balancing. I'm no tire expert, but I have been called Dunlop, as in what hangs over my belt

nothing, no weights..... i'm suspecting a liquid balancer since they used a tube in it....i'm gonna call the dealership where i bought my bike...they seem to be stand up guys and have a great reputation.... i took the rim and tire to the place down the street....i didn't buy my bike from them because they leave their bikes out during the rain, and even saw a few out there in the snow when i went to pick up my wheel, today.... goes to show you, eh?
...i'm gonna simply ask the service manager, or lead tech, what's involved with high speed balancing and the inclusion of weights, or otherwise....and if they tell me what i don't want to hear.... there is seriously going to be a problem at the counter when i get to that dealership tomorrow afternoon

RE: high speed balance?
Hard to say what they were really charging for.
2 types of tire balancing I am aware of: static and dynamic
The static balance is done on a "bubble balancer" and is not spun.
The dynamic balance is done on a spin balancer, and rotated typically at around 65 mph (on cars).
Not sure of the difference with high speed balancing.
If your tire and wheel match up okay, you may not have required any weights.... That's a good thing

Take the rim back to the stealer, put it on the counter, then fall to your knees screaming about how the high speed balance has a wobble and screwed your back up, and when they look at the rim and say there's no weights, we didn't do a high speed balance, then stand up and say very calmly, that's funny, I paid you for one.
