I'm not interested in turning it off, just wanted to really know why it was there,
and would it ever prevent me from riding the way I wanna ride.
So now I know the SERT can't turn it off...just allow you to see it.
The flash Stage I raises it from 5800 to 6200....not much of a difference there...
why does it get raised in the 1st place?
What use is 6200 over 5800?

but I'd like to add this.
As nysteve said, your basically stock motor will
never need to go beyond 5 or so.
It's not makin any more power.
Limiter momentarily cuts the fuel to prevent a grenading.
SERT you can set from 4000 to 7500
If I was ever to take my machine for service,
I'd go ahead and set it at 4000.
I've seen how them guys road test.
No matter what, with stock valve springs,
you do not want to go beyond 6200.
I radicalized my motor recently,
and that mortarforker hits the rev limiter (set at 6500)
so fast in each of the first four gears,
I added a tach and shift light
cause I hated that fuel cuts off
This motor is pulling hard and wanting to keep pulling
when it does hit 6500, but, I'll leave it there
cause this thing already has my arms streched out
I look like a chimpanzeeee.

So what's wrong with my stock 06?? The only gears I haven't hit the limiter in are 5th & 6th.
I need a tach real bad. I am sure I spend a lot of time in the 4500 RPM range, but that is where it runs so smooooooooooth.
Fly, I would suggest keeping your owners manual by the potty, and reading it at those special times.

I can trim bushes good,
as long as they're not too big.
I'd like to have a chance to meet some
of them old birds you are servicing.
