Default Street Bob 2008 Fwd Control Kit Install

Howdy All,

I am trying to install Original HD forward control on 2008 SB.The installationinstruction refers to original HD Service Manual for instructionon removing primary chaincase cover and primary chaincase housing.

Unfortunately my service manual is still on order (only had bike for 2 weeks.) Would anyone kindly scan in the pages from their ServiceManual that reference removal/installation of the primary chaincase covers/housing and email/post links to vtsyrlin@optusnet.com.au or vtsyrlin@yahoo.com.

Would very much appreciate any help.

Cheers
Vlad
ps. I know some members here chose not to remove primary as it's not 100% necessary, however I would like to follow the installation instruction to a "t".

Thanks JRK5892.
Much appreciate the offer. Scotty from this forum has already scanned and emailed me the extract from the service manual. So thanks again.

silverbullet2005, love your detailed instruction man. Should be easy to follow. Having done it, would you recommend that I keep the shifter rod in place just in case if I want to install mids back in?

Just one more opinion here. I put Kuryakyn forwards on my '07 FXDC and let the shifter arm in place. Bought a nice chrome cover to go on the shaft so it didn't look so ugly. I know there is very little chance I will ever go back tot he mid controls, but at least I don't have to go through the effort and time if I do.

My Kury kit came with a chrome cover and was never intended to remove the mid-shift components. I liked that. I'll definitely never go back to mid controls but it's nice to know that if/when I want to sell my bike, I'm not eliminating any potential buyers because it's stuck with forwards.

If I had to do it again I'd take the shaft out in a hearbeat. leaving the shaft in there makes the job look half assed. Either you want forward controlsor you don't. if you want the option for both then leave the mids on and go with highway bars. I kept all the stock components removed so if I sell my bike the new owner will have all the parts to switch the bike back to mid controls. There have been alot of debates on this forum about whether to leave the shaft in or take it out. to each is their own.
