First winter mod complete....
Finished my first mod of the winter last nite.
Decided to throw some black 13" Apes on the scooter along with new braided cables and brakeline. Took about a dayand a halfof work broken down into a few hours here and and a few hours there over the last two weeks. Ran the wiring internally through the bars and extended it by 12" with a Novello kit.
Finished bleeding the brakeline last nite, but it was to late to give her a test run, so I waited till today after work and took it around the block. Have to say it felt pretty good and not nearly as awkward as I thought it would. Not to tall and the pullback was pretty comfy although I do have them tilted forward to accomadate my long arms. Only thing I would like to do is change to some stiffer bushings under the risers, felt a little looser than I would like.
Still need to bleed the brake out some (felt a little soft) and maybe play with the bars a little to get that sweet spot where my arms won't go numb after a few hours. Other than that, my first project is done.
Makes me kind of sad cause there is a whole lot of winter left and not nearly enough project money to get me through before I startgetting cabin fever.[sm=smiley24.gif]Still have a few other things left that I want to do this winter but, this was probably the biggest one for me to tackle. The rest of the stuff is mostly cosmetic so it will be something to do here and there when I get bored.
Thanks to all the great posts I have read over the past year that helped me make this happen without paying someone else and giving me the sense of pride one gets by tackling projects on their own.
Here are a couple of pics I snapped in the garage tonite. Not the best quality but I am a pretty crappy photographer.

Bars look good. After looking at the close up, may I make a suggestion for another winter mod? Thanks, I think chrome switches would be a nice complement to your grips and new black bars. They aren't too hard to install and should only run around $20. Great job on the bars.
