Detachable saddlebags

RE: Detachable saddlebags
I bought the detachable sissy bar and luggage rack and sideplates off ebay and some bossbags from blackisfast (great deal, great shape) but had to order new hardware from boss as they weren't included. They included hardware for the bags AND the detachable sideplates and I just installed it. The bags are fine. Haven't put the sideplates or sissybar on yet but I'm hoping it works.
So, the answer is, yes you can make the detachable bags and sissybar work.

I have http://www.bossbags.com/dyna.htmlon my 04 Dyna. I have rigid sideplates, but they can be used with either, come with both mounting hardware.
Here is a picture of the bags on my bike.

I made the same mistake. Throw over bags with a detachable sissybar. Won't work. One of the posts stated to cut the yoke from the bag and use an easy bracket. That sounds like a winner. As soon as I find the easy bracket, I will install it. For now, the wife will not ride with out the back rest. I,m starting to enjoy it.
