Hey dude - long time no see. Just because it's too cold to ride doesn't mean you can't hang out here still.

Question for you - is your light mounting to the stock mount or was a different mount used?
Nah, I've been popping in & doing more reading than posting lately. Been doing alot of posting in the sports section of this forum lately too...but I'm ALWAYS around here somewhere so be careful what you say about me!

I had to get HD's tall mounting kit for my HD 5.75" Bullet light. They also have a short mounting kit as well, but itwon't fit our bikes. Here's the page link with the lights & kits needed.

I had HD install mine...costs me $73 labor, done professionally & it was done by the following morning. There's alot of things I like to do myself, but there's also some things I'd just rather have a professional do. I never worked on cars or bikes when I was younger so I never pretend to be a service tech when it comes to certain stuff.

Okay guys, I realize this thread has gotten way too long on such a simple subject. To those of you troubled by that, I apologize. But, for posterity and for anyone interested, here are some pix of the final install. I ended up using the chrome, offset mount that came with the light. I got some nice hardware that allowed it to fit perfectly with a nice domed nut on the bottom of the tree and used a hex socket head cap stainless bolt through the top. I also moved my turn signals up above the lower tree. It's funny how some mods seem to domino into others but now I think I need some nice covers for the handlebar retainingbolts under the upper tree since they can no longer hide behind my big fat stock light. Other than that, I'm very pleased with the install. It's already warming up today and should be a nice weekend and start to next week for riding.

I promise not to add anymore to this thread unless someone asks a question or posts a reply that I just can't resist responding to. If you are reading this later and have a specific question about the light or the install experience, feel free to send me a pm.

Thanks again to everyone that helped me through this. This site is not only fun, it's truly the best tool in my toolbox.
