Shoptroll,
Was that made from a SS or aluminum pan? SS is usually fairly thin and hard to work with in the average basement or garage work shop.
But if you could find an appropriately sizedaluminum pot it would be a bit easier tocut, drill, and shine up with commontools.
It was aluminum and yes, it was teflon coated.

Someone did this on another post, but i was unable to find it.

I got real tired of that ugly football and just couldn't find a replacement
for the AC cover that i liked anywhere.

Head down to your local Dollar General store

and pick up a 2 quart saucepan for 6 bucks.

The saucepan aircleaner cover was my invention.

troll, with all due respect,

we've been doing this here in Texas for 40 years that I can remember.

Don't know who invented it.

Still doin em, when appropriate.

Did one three weeks ago on a 1954 HD KH Racer.

They look and work good.

Let me re-phrase my response. Strich talked about reading a threadwhere the person useda 2-quart saucepan from the Dollar Store for 6 bucks to make his a/c cover. I'm assuming that he's referencing my "old school a/c cover" thread from a few months ago. I believe you (that it's been done for years) but I've only been riding for 4 years (all though I've been interested in bikes for a lot longer) and I've never seen that mod before and came up with it on my own. It is an easy and obvious mod and I can see where someone would have thought of it before. But really, hasn't d@mn near everything already been done before by somebody? (with exceptions made for state of the art technology, of course)

Does that mean that the bugs don't stick?

Sorry, the teflon is on the inside. Guess that means the air won't stick. [sm=confused06.gif]

Well, yesterday I was thumbing through the new J&P catalog and found these
so i orderd them. If I don't like them then I'll make some. I've already got the aluminum bar 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" x 12" that cost $20.

Jim, post some pix when/if you make some.

I guess thereare many items in the JP catalog for under 50 bux.
We could be here all day.

Just out of curiousity though,
how much did you pay for the
(whatever they are)
that you say you can build for 20 bux??
